Those nominated by the Nominating Committee to serve for three-year terms of office on the Vestry are (in random order): Kat Hoffman, Julia Cronin, Clay Gahan, Hath Harvey, Lynn Hodge, Billy Tiller, Johanne Albright, Suzanne Barels, Marie Williams Cleary and Bobby Crates. Brief profiles of these nominees are in this month's "The Chimes" newsletter.

Concerning absentee ballots: Parish Canons allow votes on “the first ballot of voting for election of Vestry members at the Annual Parish Meeting.”  Absentee ballots will be available at the Church (and must be cast in person) on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sunday, November 8 in the Narthex from 9:15 until 10:15 and from noon until 12:15; and Monday and Tuesday, November 9 and 10 in the Church Office from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Those wishing to cast absentee ballots must meet the canonical requirements and the voting procedures described in writing on the printed ballot.(Should you cast an absentee first ballot and then come to the meeting, you will have forfeited your right to vote in any subsequent ballots.)

What is the Vestry? The Vestry, Chaired by the Rector, has 15 lay leaders elected by the congregation.  Vestry members are spiritual leaders and constitute the corporate board.  By action of the Vestry, the five new members of the Vestry will be our Lay Delegates to the Annual Convention of the Diocese.

The Annual Meeting of the Congregation is Tuesday, November 10
A Message from the Rector Concerning the Annual Meeting of the Congregation

Dear Members of Saint Paul’s,

I look forward to the Annual Meeting of the Congregation over supper in Key Andrews Hall on Tuesday, November 10th. We are glad to report that the Nominating Committee has brought ten names to the Vestry, and that body joins in publishing the names.  Five new Vestry members will be elected at the  Annual Meeting (from among the ten nominees and any nominations from the floor).Parish Canons require that we publish procedures on voting. Those procedures include the possibility of limited absentee balloting. While that may be needful for you, I encourage you to plan to come to the Annual Meeting.

See you there!

With prayers and thanksgivings, Faithfully,
Donald Fishburne
