The Transforming Literature of the New Testament
In plenary sessions and small groups we offer ourselves to betransformed by the Good News of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Synoptic Gospellers Mark, Matthew, and Luke. Sample
themes: Journeys with Mark including a Day in the Life of Jesus and The Way of the Cross. Also, the parables in Matthew and Luke, and the Birth of the Church and Conversion of Paul. We
begin after supper with a presentation by clergy for 30-45 minutes and a discussion and sharing period of one hour, ending before 9 p.m. This course will be attractive to those who have been a part of the Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC)
program as well as those who would like a taste of a similar experience. Commitment to weekly attendance and participation in the discussion is important. Participants are to spend some
time in preparation for some sessions. Each participant will be invited to purchase The Oxford Annotated Bible, New Revised Standard Version, and perhaps volume one of Listening for God, a book of short stories and narratives that will be used as parallel reading. Team taught by Donald Fishburne, Suzanne Smitherman and Bob Leopold. Huckabay Lecture Hall. Registration is
required; please register on the forms available through the office or in Key-Andrews Hall.

Bible Study — For Men and Women, Lay-Led
Using the inductive approach, learn for yourself what the Biblesay, what it means to you, and how you want to apply it to yourdaily life. This is a good opportunity for Christian fellowship in a small group setting through a minimum of individual study,group discussion, and prayer. The group meets on a weekly basis on
Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday Night at the Movies
Wednesday dinner and a movie - the best deal in town! We will gather at 7:00pm in the Yo Room for a full length movie each week. A brief discussion will follow with the single question about each movie, “What would Jesus say?” Movies announced
weekly to include "Traces of the Trade", "Salvation on Sand Mountain", "What’s Eating Gilbert Grape", and "Little Miss Sunshine".
We’ll be out by 9. Drop-ins welcome. Free popcorn!
